Health, Safety and Documentation
Having the right documentation is very important, more and more venues will not allow DJ's to work in their venues without it. There must be nothing worse than turning up to your event to find out that the DJ has been turned away as he did not have Public Liability Insurance (PLI) or his equipment Portable Appliance Tested (PAT). Additionally many clients book DJ's unaware that this might be a requirement of the venues terms and conditions, and then find out days before that it is, and then find the DJ does not have the necessary cover.
Public Liability Insurance (PLI)
We take care of this, We always hold Public Liability Insurance (PLI) through our membership with the National Association of Disc Jockeys therefore you can be assurred that for your event we have this insurance in place.
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)
Whilst many people are unclear whether Portable Appliance Tested (PAT) is required legally, for piece of mind our equipment is tested every April. So if your venue asks that your DJ has this, rest assured this is covered. In recent years we've covered many events at the last minute where a clients DJ has informed them that they don't have PAT certificates and venue has refused to allow their DJ to work at the venue.
We also check every piece of equipment prior to every event. Unfortunately this still not guarantees 100% that everything is working when we arrive, we do have certain back up equipment and spares. Problems are very very rare.
Upon request we can provide site specific risk assessments and method statements. We have available method statements covers the different systems we commonly have in use.
Please check with your venue if they require sight of any documentation before your event. It is always advisable to give us plenty of notice if this is a requirement of your chosen venue. We do usually ensure the DJ has the necessary paperwork with them, but do prefer to provide this beforehand when possible.
Please be aware that we do also have to consider health & Safety requirements of everyone who may be present therefore when setting up, we may not be able to set up in certain locations for reasons such as blocking fire exits, obstructing access ways etc. When this occurs we will endeavor to inform you, or the venue. Details of our requirements are covered within our terms and conditions.
For security reasons, and in order to prevent fraudulent use by other dj's (which does occur) our certificates are only obtainable upon request, and only following confirmation of booking.
Following COVID whilst we ensure we have all the necessary vaccinations, we no longer encourage guests to come up to make requests or dedications but to text them to us via mobile phone.
